OCPD is a type of “personality disorder” with these characteristics: • Rigid adherence to rules and regulations. • An overwhelming need for order. • Unwillingness to yield or give responsibilities to others. • A sense of righteousness about the way things “should be done”
OCD is a common, chronic, and long-lasting disorder in which a person has uncontrollable, reoccurring thoughts (obsessions) and/or behaviors (compulsions) that he or she feels the urge to repeat over and over.
Is a disorder that includes: aggression, excitability, fidgeting, hyperactivity, impulsivity, irritability, lack of restraint, or persistent repetition of words or actions, absent-mindedness, difficulty focusing, forgetfulness, problem paying attention, or short attention span, anger, anxiety, boredom, excitement, or mood swings that varies in its intensity and can have a cribbing effect on your daily activities.
An addiction is a chronic dysfunction of the brain system that involves reward, motivation, and memory. It’s about the way your body craves a substance or behavior, especially if it causes a compulsive or obsessive pursuit of “reward” and lack of concern over consequences.
Couples therapy is counseling for couples who are in a relationship, married or not. It’s often referred to as marriage counseling. The goal is to improve the couples’ relationship, or sometimes to help them decide whether or not they should continue staying together.
Symptoms may include nightmares or unwanted memories of the trauma, avoidance of situations that bring back memories of the trauma, heightened reactions, anxiety, or depressed mood.
Symptoms include stress that’s out of proportion to the impact of the event, inability to set aside a worry, and restlessness strong enough to impact your daily activities.
The persistent feeling of sadness or loss of interest that characterizes major depression can lead to a range of behavioral and physical symptoms. These may include changes in sleep, appetite, energy level, concentration, daily behavior, or self-esteem. Depression can also be associated with thoughts of suicide.
